Beckley Woods is a deed restricted community formed in 1975. A set of Bylaws and a Deed of Restrictions were written and approved to attend to the governance and wellbeing of the neighborhood and it’s residents. A Board of Directors was formed to oversee this task. Members of the Board of Directors are chosen from residents of Beckley Woods and a slate of directors is presented annually and voted upon. The Board of Directors will then chose their own officers. The term for all Board members is one year. Many of our current Board members have served consecutive terms for many years. If you are interested in serving as a Board member, which is an unpaid volunteer position, you are invited to contact us at mailbwra@gmail.com. You will be promptly contacted.
The Beckley Woods Annual Yard Sale will be held on Saturday May 10th. The sale is being advertised in the Courier Journal. Lake Forest will also be holding their annual yard sale at the same time, so we can expect to see a lot of shoppers visiting our neighborhood. This is the time to clean your attic, basement and garage and part with those old “treasures.” This is also a great time to take a stroll around the neighborhood and meet neighbors from other areas of Beckley Woods. Place a balloon on your mailbox so you can be assured of drawing attention to your yard sale.
Thanks to the thoughtfulness of one of our residents, Beckley Woods now has our own Little Free Library. The library is stocked with a wide variety of genres – everything from mystery to nonfiction to young adult classics. We hope that the Little Free Library will allow our residents to share the love of reading with fellow neighbors. We hope that everyone will find something they love, and of course feel free to leave behind one of your favorite books for someone else to enjoy. Happy reading!
My Little Free Library is located in front of
503 Bromwell Drive.
